One of the finest books I've ever read. It has changed my life...perhaps even helped save mine. I bought a dozen copies and sent them to all my loved ones. Timeless wisdom...a User's Guide to the Bible, really. I read and re-read a passage from it every single night.
I won't waste your time with a review due to the thousands that will be better written. This book was great for me, came at a great time, expanded my thinking, and changed parts of my life and connect lost pieces too. I'd recommend it but I believe the book finds the reader!
Kind of that childish naive religious belief that those who grew up in a church typically have, so if you are skeptical of religion you must come in with an open mind. The methods work and will help you feel better and also to help you solve your problems. This book is a good read especially when you need something to lift your spirits up when you are down. I found some examples as "too good to be true" but it does help convey/illustrate the message he is delivering. What I like about this book is that it offers you affirmations that you can repeat to yourself to boost your morale and faith in yourself. I don't think this is the type of book that you read in one sitting. I think it works well if you try to read one chapter at a time and contemplate the message over a period of days.
I picked up this book after reading How to Win Friends and Influence People. Being positive is a powerful thing and I wish more people came from this mindset as a default setting. There is a reason why this book sells as much as it does.
All time favorite book combining all of the most positive biblical passages with faith filled anecdotal evidence of it's effectiveness when practiced! I read it, then highlighted and now read at least one highlighted passage every day. Has gotten me through a really difficult time with much hope.
I truly enjoy how Dr. Peale is able to use the teachings of Jesus to demonstrate the Law of Attraction in this book. I do not consider myself a Christian, but Dr. Peale takes the good from Christian teachings to uses them to inspire you and feel empowered. A wonderful book to add to your self-empowerment collection.
